Werner Heisenberg

Werner Heisenberg German theoretical physicist who formulated the uncertainty principle — one of quantum mechanics' defining features — stating that the position and momentum of a particle cannot both be known simultaneously. He won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1932 for the creation of quantum mechanics.
