Toni Morrison

Toni Morrison American novelist whose works examine the Black American experience with poetic intensity and moral force. Her novel "Beloved" — inspired by the true story of a escaped enslaved woman who killed her daughter rather than return her to slavery — won the Pulitzer Prize and was called "the greatest American novel" by multiple critics. Nobel Prize in Literature 1993.
