Phil Knight Phil Knight co-founded Nike in 1964 — originally called Blue Ribbon Sports — selling running shoes from the back of a car before building the world's most valuable sportswear brand. His memoir "Shoe Dog" is widely considered one of the great entrepreneurial narratives and a frank account of building a business from nothing.
