El Más Loco

El Más Loco Nazario Moreno González was a founding leader of La Familia Michoacana and later the Knights Templar Cartel, criminal organizations based in Michoacán, Mexico, that combined drug trafficking with a pseudo-religious ideology drawing on evangelical and quasi-spiritual texts he authored. Mexican authorities reported his death in a 2010 shootout, but he was later confirmed to have survived and continued leading the Knights Templar until he was killed in a confrontation with Mexican federal forces in March 2014. He was known for presenting himself as a messianic figure to cartel recruits.
