Mother Teresa Albanian-Indian Catholic nun who founded the Missionaries of Charity in 1950, a religious congregation dedicated to caring for the poorest of the poor in Calcutta. She spent 45 years ministering to the sick, dying, and abandoned in the slums. Nobel Peace Prize 1979. Canonized as a saint by Pope Francis in 2016.
