# Miles Davis

Miles Davis was an American trumpeter, bandleader, and composer who is widely considered the most innovative and influential figure in the history of jazz, having been at the forefront of multiple genre-defining movements from bebop through cool jazz, hard bop, modal jazz, and jazz fusion across a career of over 50 years. His 1959 album "Kind of Blue" remains the best-selling jazz album of all time, and "Bitches Brew" (1970) pioneered jazz fusion. He received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1990 and was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.
