Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo, known as "El Padrino", was one of the biggest Mexican drug lords. He founded the Guadalajara Cartel, which became the precursor of modern Mexican drug cartels. Felix Gallardo was arrested in 1989 and is serving a 37-year sentence. He was the mentor to future cartel leaders including El Chapo and El Mayo Zambada.
