# Luis Villoro

Luis Villoro was one of Mexico's most respected philosophers of the 20th century, a key member of the Hyperion group that explored Mexican identity, and later a leading thinker on indigenous rights, multiculturalism, and epistemic justice. His works Los grandes momentos del indigenismo en México (1950) and Estado plural, pluralidad de culturas (1998) defined the philosophical terms of debate around indigenous autonomy in Mexico. In his final years he was a vocal intellectual supporter of the Zapatista movement.
