Born in Dagestan, Russia, Khabib began training in wrestling at a young age under his father Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. He has a background in wrestling, judo, and sambo, becoming a two-time world champion in combat sambo.
UFC Career
Khabib joined the UFC in 2012 and quickly rose through the ranks. He became the UFC Lightweight Champion in April 2018 and held the title until his retirement in March 2021. He was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in June 2022.
