El Lazca Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano, known as "El Lazca", was a Mexican drug lord who was the leader of Los Zetas. He was a former Mexican special forces officer who deserted to work for the Gulf Cartel before forming Los Zetas. Lazcano was killed by the Mexican Navy in a firefight in 2012. Under his leadership, Los Zetas became one of the most violent and powerful cartels.
