Henry Hill Henry Hill was an associate of the Lucchese crime family in New York who participated in the 1978 Lufthansa heist at JFK Airport, one of the largest cash robberies in U.S. history at the time, and was involved in drug trafficking, extortion, and other criminal enterprises over a career spanning two decades. Following his arrest on drug charges in 1980, he became a federal informant and cooperated with prosecutors, providing testimony that led to the convictions of numerous mob figures. His account of his life in organized crime was the basis for Nicholas Pileggi's 1986 book "Wiseguy" and Martin Scorsese's 1990 film "Goodfellas"; he died of heart complications in Los Angeles in June 2012.
