Dolores del Río Dolores del Río was a pioneering Mexican actress who became the first major Latin American star in Hollywood during the silent film era and early sound period, widely recognized as one of the most beautiful women in cinema history. Born into an aristocratic family in Durango, she appeared in Hollywood productions throughout the 1920s and 1930s before returning to Mexico, where she helped define the Golden Age of Mexican cinema alongside María Félix and Jorge Negrete. She later enjoyed a celebrated stage career and worked with directors including John Ford, Orson Welles, and Emilio Fernández.
