Desmond Tutu South African Anglican bishop and theologian who was a central figure in the movement to end apartheid. As Archbishop of Cape Town, he used his moral authority to challenge the apartheid government internationally. Nobel Peace Prize 1984. Chaired South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission after apartheid. Called the "Arch" by fellow South Africans.
