BTK Killer Dennis Rader, known as the "BTK Killer" — an acronym for Bind, Torture, Kill — murdered ten people in the Wichita, Kansas, area between 1974 and 1991 and sent taunting letters to police and media before going dormant for years. He was identified in 2005 after resuming contact with authorities and inadvertently providing forensic evidence through a floppy disk he mailed, leading to his arrest as a married father of two who worked as a church president and compliance officer. He pleaded guilty to ten counts of first-degree murder and was sentenced to ten consecutive life terms with no possibility of parole.
