Daddy Yankee Daddy Yankee is a Puerto Rican rapper and singer widely credited as the "King of Reggaeton" and the central figure in bringing reggaeton to global audiences, particularly through his 2004 single "Gasolina," which became the first reggaeton song to achieve mainstream international recognition.
