Butch Cassidy Butch Cassidy was an American outlaw who led the Wild Bunch gang, also known as the Hole-in-the-Wall Gang, in a series of bank and train robberies across the American West during the 1890s and early 1900s. Facing increasing law enforcement pressure, he and his partner Harry Longabaugh, known as the Sundance Kid, fled to South America around 1901 and continued criminal activities in Argentina and Bolivia.
