Brendan Eich Brendan Eich is an American computer programmer who created the JavaScript programming language in 1995 in just ten days while working at Netscape, inventing the language that would become the ubiquitous scripting language of the World Wide Web. JavaScript is now the most-used programming language in the world, running in every web browser and, via Node.js, on servers as well. Eich later co-founded Mozilla and created the Firefox browser, and more recently founded Brave Software, which has developed a privacy-focused browser and the Basic Attention Token cryptocurrency.
