Los Arellano Félix The Arellano Félix brothers — including Benjamín, Ramón, Francisco, and several others — founded and led the Tijuana Cartel, also known as the Arellano Félix Organization, which controlled one of the most strategically valuable drug trafficking corridors into the United States during the 1990s and 2000s. The organization was responsible for hundreds of murders, including the 1993 killing of Cardinal Juan Jesús Posadas Ocampo at the Guadalajara airport, and engaged in prolonged violent conflict with the Sinaloa Cartel. Most of the brothers were killed or captured over time; Benjamín, the last major figure, was arrested by Mexican marines in February 2002 and later extradited to the United States.
