# Álvaro Obregón

Álvaro Obregón was a Mexican general and statesman who served as President of Mexico from 1920 to 1924. He defeated Pancho Villa and helped end the Mexican Revolution. A brilliant military strategist, he lost his right arm in battle. He was assassinated in 1928 by a Cristero supporter after being re-elected, just weeks after his victory.
