Alejandro González Iñárritu

Alejandro González Iñárritu Alejandro González Iñárritu is a Mexican director and producer who became the first person to win back-to-back Academy Awards for Best Director, for 'Birdman' (2014) and 'The Revenant' (2015). He began his career in Mexican radio and television before making his feature debut with 'Amores Perros' (2000), a gritty multi-narrative portrait of Mexico City that earned an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film. His immersive virtual-reality work 'Carne y Arena' (2017) won a special Oscar for its depiction of the immigrant experience.
